My name is Octavia. I live in a burning house. Everything is funny. I am seeking a publishing agent, but I am looking for one in my own reflection. If I cross my eyes, a more prosperous me is giving me a thumbs up from beyond their watery grave. I watched Princess Mononoke off a DVD of dubious legality when I was six years old and have only been able to understand hyperviolence ever since. It is a miracle and a nightmare that I have had the focus to work on and rework and restart one single project for three years but I breathe it now. By the time this is all over I hope to have written the Old and New Testaments and all the apocrypha too. I treat fictional characters like real people because there is no religiosity inherent to Pascal's wager. You never know. I hope my main specialty is jokes, but my genre of choice is psychodrama. Troubling. Or is this a tragicomedy? What is genre but one foundational book and sailors on thousands of ships of Theseus playing Chinese whispers? Worked for languages, those are dialects with armies. I don't consider language a blessing. I just have to live with it because my alphabet soup has live orcas in it and I have to starve them by picking up all the letters that are their prey and hope they don't get desperate enough to knock over my boat in the alphabet sea and eat me. I wish I was a scriptwriter.

My name is Janis [Vivian Media] Lago; I'm a trans dyke writer, designer, musician, artist, et cetera from Atlanta, Georgia. I'm perhaps best known for making overly emotional, almost painfully human work outside of this project, but since I'm basically a vampire when you take all the factors taken into account - lack of exposure to sunlight, love of meat cooked rare or raw, et cetera - this is actually more of my inhuman(e) side you're seeing. But what exactly are you seeing? Let me explain: this shambling mess "Daughters of Darkness" started in early 2020 as a humble and aimless messaging-app roleplay between myself, Octavia, and a few others who are fortunately no longer working on the project, but has since blossomed into whatever the hell this is, this uneven admixture of lesbian romance, raw queer desire, European history, American anti-history, hyperbolic autistic-cum-ADHD-cum-affected-by-some-unspecified-other-thing philosophizations, biting satire, and quite likely everything else one can possibly think of as long as I think it's interesting. I've been reading from a very early age when I suddenly noticed I could make out the words on a computer screen and understand them, and I've been writing for not much less time, at first in poor imitations, nowadays in the absurdo-surrealist idiom - well, I like to call my work 'cosmic fantasy' a la 'cosmic horror,' but that's just me being a bitch about labels as usual. I would, despite labels otherwise being cumbersome, consider myself a Marxist. I hope you have a wonderful day.
